La Mazda Jaune et Sa SaintetÉ (2018)

A conceptual experiment on what it means to start a film with a black image, develops into a subtle personal essay about the filmmaker. The story of a missionary falling in love with a Rwandese girl, blends with wat images and this legacy mean to their daughter.

Le film commence par une image noire, une expérience conceptuelle qui se transforme en un essaie personnel et subtil de la réalisatrice. Ce court métrage raconte l’histoire d’un missionnaire tombé amoureux d’une fille rwandaise, se métamorphosant petite à petit en une réflexion personnelle mise en images par leur fille.

Een conceptueel experiment naar wat het betekent een film te starten met een zwart beeld, ontpot zich in een subtiel filmessay over het maken zelf. Het verhaal van een jonge missionaris die verlied wordt op een Rwanedees meisje, wordt vermengd met wat filmbeelden rond wat deze erfenis voor hun dochter betekent.
